D. and I have never been hippies. At least I don't think he was. Me, I'm too young, but I don't think I ever really wanted to be a hippie. Maybe for a short stint in college. I think I wanted to be more avant garde, more from the 20's :) I also never did crazy pschadelics. However, we decided to go to the DAM this weekend for our last chance to see The Psychedelic Experience: Rock Posters from the San Francisco Bay Area 1965-1971. It was pretty darn cool, and totally far out! The poster artists packed so much into a small space, and I loved, LOVED the use of nouveau-ish lettering and design. This was my favorite artist, Bonnie MacLean. Her husband was the "suit" who owned the Fillmore in San Fran.
It also re-inspired my love for the strange and decadent, Aubrey Beardsley.
The whole exhibit kind of made me wonder what I missed out on!
