weekend. house. stuff.

Oh, the time does fly. I have spent the weekend thrifting, estate sale-ing, grading papers, planning for my class next week, cleaning the house. And still there is more to do. I find this all somewhat fun, though. The variety of things in my life is nice.

On Thursday, Doug and I went to an estate sale in our neighborhood. All craftsmen style stuff. Beautiful. Most everything was outrageously expensive, but we got a deal on this beautiful quilt. This is our little guest room.
I've been wanting an antique quilt, and none seem to be up to par, and within the budget. You can just see the corner of it in this picture, but you get the idea. I also got that art deco print, too. It's an Erte! I don't know what is going on with the pink theme. I am not a pink person. But with the white walls, the white antique furniture, I like those accents of pink. Not sure what I'm doing with the painting, though. It may go in the "studio.

Here is a peak at our living/dining room. Our house was built in 1921. It's a real gem. Though everything right now is really thrown together. The furniture, etc. We want to do a lot with this sweet place, but the funds don't exist right now. In the future, I hope to be posting a lot of "before and afters."
Well, that's it for this evening. I will probably have a Sunday post, too :)

Here's my Gussie enjoying the sun in the guest room and the backdrop of the new old quilt.
